What is Make Purchase and what is its application in the SDK?

We have implemented the complete SDK of Adapty, but while going through the documentation, we came across a function called Make Purchase. Wanted to understand the concept and reason behind implementing that since we already are receiving the events after installing the SDK. So what is it and why does it need to be done?
